| SIGGRAPH Asia 2012 is pleased to announce its two Featured Speakers for this year's conference, one hailing from academic research and the other from the creative industries. They are, Karlheinz Brandenburg, who discovered the MP3 audio compression format and Richard Chuang, co-founder of PDI/DreamWorks, who pioneered the studio's proprietary animation system, which received an Academy Technical Achievement Award in 1998. In addition to these speakers, SIGGRAPH Asia, is also introducing the Technical Briefs program, which aims to provide the research community with a platform to present their results and findings. Returning tracks at the conference include, the Symposium on Apps as well as the Computer Animation Festival and the Courses program which will feature a variety of instructional sessions from introductory to advanced topics in computer graphics and interactive techniques by speakers from institutions around the globe.
